JULY 24

After 101 games, the Twins are 55-46, in second place, 2.5 games behind the White Sox in the Central Division.
Despite continued dominance at the Dome (34-19), a three-game sweep in the Bronx brings the boys to a less-than-desirable 21-27 on the road.

Francisco Liriano has ruled Triple-A, posting a fucking ridiculous 0.26 ERA in his last five starts, that is: one run in 35 innings pitched. Fan opinion soured slightly when his agent raised a stink over service time, but if our rotation's woes continue in Cleveland this weekend, expect a warm welcome back to the Bigs as early as Monday against the omnipresent White Sox.

Hitting .088 since Independence Day, Carlos “fun to watch” Gomez has been bumped to the nine-spot—a move the all-knowing Gleeman foretold four months ago. Maybe he's on to something with this whole “stats” thing.

Livan has ten wins. They're fewer and further between, but he still eats those innings (127.2, as of this date), and is inching ever closer to the arbitrary fifteen-and-we're-in line I drew half a season ago. Hopefully, Justin Morneau scoring the game-winning run in the fifteenth inning of the All-Star game proves to be fortuitous.
