SEPTEMBER 1

An open letter to the Republican Convention.
We do not want you here.

You, that have descended like vultures on our home, to interrupt and assail the unique ease of life we have come to enjoy as citizens of these great towns. You, that have polluted our air and our water and our way of life. You, that have sent overseas as many to die as your ineptitude killed on a September morning seven years ago. You, that have profited from a fabricated war, from the misery of untold millions, and from breaking the laws you have sworn to uphold, even as our own economy and infrastructure—and our very Constitution—lay in shambles at your feet.

Your arrogance has brought the greatest country in the world to its knees. We are frailer and more vulnerable than ever. And yet, you go on, denying Liberty to those who deserve it, hating for hate's sake alone. And killing, and killing, and killing.

You, bad people, that have done these horrible things in the name of patriotism. You, that have sullied our flag, and the name of these United States. You, that have committed these sins against a nation in which you claim to believe, that refuse to answer for all you have done.

What will it take? When will you stop?

Will you apologize to the ones you've wronged?

Or will you merely say your act of contrition, and fall asleep on the world?
